GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Hall County sheriff's officials say their goal is to outfit every deputy and patrol supervisor with a body camera within the next four months.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes tells The Times (http://bit.ly/1FT2bHI) that officials hope to purchase body cameras next month for the department's nearly 90 deputies.

In Hall County's largest city, Gainesville, the police force already uses body cameras for some employees. Ten body cameras have been in use for some Gainesville officers, and the department expects more in the future.

Other Georgia departments now using body cameras include Powder Springs police.

The fatal shooting of an unarmed man by a police officer has renewed calls for body cameras on officers, and the White House this week announced that it wants more officers nationwide to wear them.
