TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - We told you on Wednesday that Tallahassee city leaders and the Chamber of Commerce met to discuss how to retain talent in Tallahassee.

They said they want to keep entrepreneurs and future small business owners in Tallahassee once they graduate instead of them leaving to go to a bigger city.

On Wednesday, WTXL Anchor Abbey Maurer talked to "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary while he was in the Capital City and asked the entrepreneur and business owner his thoughts on that.

He said the brand, Florida State, is a remarkable brand in American education, because it's a global brand, and that great innovation comes out of institutions like FSU, and you want entrepreneurs who are happy here to set up shop here.

"And that is self-futfilling prophecy," he said, "because that's what happens, you start two businesses ten of them are going to be huge. Tallahassee needs more of that. It needs more people hanging out here and living here, and there's nothing wrong with this place. In terms for being a great hub for technology and innovation and just business overall. Because it's in a state that a huge tax advantage now."

Maurer also asked him what's changed for entrepreneurs since Shark Tank began.

He told said it's becoming easier to start a business because the power of social media allows you to sell a product all around the world.

The bad news, he said, is that there's a tremendous amount of competition.
