Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--Family and friends gathered on Saturday to say goodbye to a Valdosta State University graduate who was killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
Memorial Services for Chester McBride were held Saturday morning on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
The Air Staff Sergeant was one of six killed in an attack at the Bargram Airfield.
McBridge was a Statesboro native but earned his Master's from VSU last May. On Friday, dozens of people lined the streets of his hometown for a "Welcome Home" parade in his honor.
The Taliban has since claimed responsible for that attack, but that claim has yet to be confirmed.
