MADISON COUNTY, FL. (WTXL)-- A woman is seriously injured after falling asleep at the wheel and running her car off the road at approximately 8:30am Sunday Morning.
According to reports from Florida Highway Patrol, Stephanie Crossley was traveling South on Highway 221, when she fell asleep. She then veered Southwest on to the grass shoulder. At this point, the front of her car collided with the drainage culvert and went into the air, clearing the driveway of 3502 Southwest Highway 221.
After landing, FHP repots, Crossley collided into a wood fence, then a tree. The vehicle then turned around tree counterclockwise before coming to a final rest.
Crossley was transported to Tallahassee Memorial to receive treatment for several injuries. No one else was involved in the crash.
There are no charges filed at this time.
