WASHINGTON (WTXL) - After more than four decades of public service, Senator Bill Nelson delivered his farewell remarks on the Senate floor Wednesday.
He reflected on his time in office, the people he worked with and what he had helped accomplish.
And he reminded Senators much work still needs to be done.
"There are great many challenges that our country faces, and I call upon all of those of you who serve in this Senate to act with moral courage when these obligations come calling in the future," he said. "As I depart, I'm putting my trust in you."
Nelson lost his seat to Florida Gov. Rick Scott in the November sixth election.
