SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A semi-truck driver died in Suwannee County when the truck left I-10, hit a tree and caught fire.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the accident happened Tuesday around 10:52 p.m. on I-10 westbound at mile marker 289.
The driver of the truck, Carlos Bernier Rodriguez, 49, of Miami, died at the scene.
FHP says it is unknown at this time whether Rodriguez was wearing his seat-belt or if alcohol was involved.
FHP said the reason the truck left the road is still unknown as well.
