TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A second man has been arrested, accused of trafficking and having sex with two underage girls.
Dishay Henderson was arrested on Tuesday after a second defendant, Marvin Perry, Jr., was arrested in early April.
The victims, who are 16 and 17 years old, were found by TPD after disappearing on Jan. 19. They told police that they had "worked" for Henderson first before he was arrested on a child support warrant on Feb. 15.
The victims told police that Henderson, known to them as "Speedy" or "Black," allowed them to stay at his home on Georgia Street, but only if they brought in money. According to complaint documents, that meant the teens were forced to participate in prostitution.
Documents say that Henderson not only forced the victim to "sell their bodies," but also made them have sex with him on multiple occasions in exchange for drugs. Investigators later discovered phone records that corroborated the victims' accounts.
When Henderson got arrested for child support, the girls were "transferred" to Perry.
When investigators spoke with Henderson in March 2018, he told them that he denied ever touching them, smoking drugs around them, or charging them to stay in his home. He went on to say that he allowed the victims to stay at his home for free "out of the kindness of his heart."
However, when Henderson got out of jail and approached an officer of his own volition on April 30, he admitted that drugs had made him do a lot of things and that he had used drugs around the victims.
As a result of the investigation, Henderson was charged with human trafficking, deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, unlawful sex with certain minors, and child abuse.
He was taken into custody on Tuesday.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man was arrested after trafficking and having sex with two underage girls.
Marvin Perry Jr., 41, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department for also containing child pornography, promoting sexual performance by a child, and soliciting a minor online.
On March 16, two victims, who are 16 and 17 years old, were found by TPD after disappearing on Jan. 19.
During the time the two victims were missing, fliers had been created and were broadcast on television.
When interviewed by officers, one of the victims said she had been having sex for money or drugs. She explained to officers that she had worked for another guy originally, but when he was arrested for unrelated charges, her and the other victim were transferred to Perry.
She said Perry was a driver for a transportation company, who picked them up and dropped them off to meet men.
The victim informed officers that Perry set up "plays" for them. A "play" or "plays" was a term they used for sex in exchange for money or drugs.
She told officers that she was asked to send Perry a naked picture of herself for him to show customers.
The victim stated Perry would "raise the price" of the "play" and he would get half of the money. She said Perry would also bring them drugs and got "turned on" when he smoked.
The victim stated that Perry wanted her to touch him when she smoked "molly."
According to the police report, she began working with Perry when she and the other victim were staying with the first "pimp."
She said Perry was nice because he did not hit them and brought them food. She added that Perry would want "other things" when he brought food.
The victim told officers that Perry had sex with the other victim on March 15 while they were staying at a hotel in Tallahassee.
She pointed out that it was easy for Perry to move them around since he was a driver for a transportation service.
The victim said she communicated with Perry over social media and by phone.
Officers were able to obtain search warrants for the social media accounts of the victim and Perry. They were able to confirm that the social media account belonged to Perry and the phone number he used was his.
Based on the evidence, Perry was arrested on April 7 and charged with four counts of online solicitation of a minor, two counts of unlawful sex with certain minors, one count of human trafficking, deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, promoting sexual performance by a child, possession of child pornography with the intent to promote, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
He is to have no unsupervised contact with minors and no access to computers or social media.
