TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend is just one of many organizations that will be playing a huge role in the first annual WTXL Turkey Drive, but they stress although it is the holiday season, helping the hungry is a year-round goal.

"Unfortunately hunger doesn't take a holiday, so we're working steadily year-round to ensure that the "one in six" people in our community who are at risk of going hungry have food on their tables to help them during their difficult time", said Stephanie Kilham of the Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

The organization says that there is a growing population of over 55 thousand people each month that they feed in the local area.

"We're so grateful for the partnership of the many individuals who are contributing to this and the community members who are going to come out tomorrow in the cold and make those generous donations", said Kilham.

The First Annual Turkey Drive is on the 20th of November and goes from 5am to 6:30pm at Ponce de Leon Park in downtown Tallahassee.
