MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - Charlene Balewa from FAMU visited Second Cup to talk about the Harambee Festival, an event to educate people about the contributions of African Americans throughout history.

She spoke with WTXL Sunrise Anchor Malcolm Hornsby.

The festival will be Saturday, February 23, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cascades Park.

The Harambee serves as a catalyst to connect FAMU with local residents.

This community-wide cultural celebration will showcase FAMU's colleges in an effort to enhance the university's recruitment and student retainment efforts.

The festival expects to attract more than 10,000 patrons, students, and alumni in the North Florida Region.
