TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend discussed its needs for male mentors.
Alva Striplin of the organization joined WTXL ABC's Sunrise anchor Malcolm Hornsby on Wednesday's Second Cup.
Striplin says that for every ten volunteers who sign up for Big Brothers Big Sisters, only one is male.
The organization has more than 400 children on the waitlist, and 70 percent of those are young boys in need of a positive male role model.
