AUGUSTA, GA. (AP) - Authorities say a man is missing on Thurmond Lake in eastern Georgia.
The Augusta Chronicle reports that a group of women saw a man fall off a personal watercraft near a recreation area Monday afternoon.
Capt. Mark Padgett of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources says the women saw the man surface once before going under.
The man wasn't wearing a life jacket but searchers found one in the Yamaha WaveRunner.
Dive teams are on the scene. Padgett says the water is about 40 feet deep where the man disappeared.
