CLARKESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Law officers in the northeast Georgia mountains are asking residents to leave the area of a shooting as they search for a suspect.
Habersham County sheriff's officials said in a statement Tuesday morning that officers are going door-to-door to check on residents in the area.
They said they're also using a helicopter and police dogs to search for an "armed and dangerous suspect."
Authorities said roads in the area are being closed during the search.
Few other details on the shooting were immediately available early Tuesday.
Habersham County is about 80 miles northeast of Atlanta.
