LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The search continues along the Suwannee River for a missing boater.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission tells us A 17-foot Boston Whaler was discovered near Branford southbound on the river on Sunday.
FWC and the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office were notified at 1:44 p.m. and responded on Sunday. Search efforts began for 58-year-old Robert Byerts. Boats and officers are out to find him. FWC spokeswoman Karen Parker says Byerts was headed north on the river.
