SEATTLE (AP)-- Searchers looking for a skydiver who's been missing since he jumped out of a helicopter at 6,500 feet east of Seattle have suspended their efforts for the day due to darkness.
King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West says the search in the Cascade foothills for 29-year-old Kurt Ruppert of Lake City, Fla., will resume Saturday morning.
West says search crews are hoping Ruppert might be stuck in a tree with his parachute or perhaps lost in rugged state-owned land at Mount Si after skydiving Thursday. He was wearing a special flying suit with fabric under the arms to allow him to glide like a flying squirrel.
