NAVARRE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they've suspended the search for a swimmer who went missing last week off a Florida Panhandle beach.
Northwest Florida Daily News (http://goo.gl/RPWYWG ) reported Tuesday that the Navarre Beach Fire Department has halted efforts to recover the body of 28-year-old Christopher Beal.
Beal went missing early Dec. 29 while swimming near the Navarre Beach pier. Officials say he got caught in a rip current.
Emergency management operations chief Tom Lloyd previously said red flags were flying at the beach, warning swimmers of dangerous rip currents.
