NAVARRE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Officials say the search for a swimmer missing off a Florida Panhandle beach has become a search and recovery mission.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff's spokesman Rich Aloy says the search for 28-year-old Christopher Beal of Crestview was suspended Tuesday evening because of inclement weather.
Aloy tells the Northwest Florida Daily News (http://bit.ly/1VpsEWP ) the recovery mission will continue on Wednesday.
Beal went missing early Tuesday while swimming near the Navarre Beach pier. Officials say he got caught in a rip current.
Emergency management operations chief Tom Lloyd says red flags were flying at the beach on Tuesday, warning swimmers of dangerous rip currents.
