(WTXL) - Some experts believe teaching the Thai kids to dive is too dangerous, and a dive like they are considering is even difficult for adults.
A local expert is even saying "this is a daunting task."
WTXL ABC 27's Jarell Baker shows us how difficult it will be to learn these techniques.
"There is a thousand things that can go wrong in there," said Edd Sorenson, an International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery Regional Director. "There is zero visiablity and the high flow is gonna cause extreme stress load on them."
A possible cave dive is no easy feat for this young team. According to Sorenson, most divers have to be 18 years old and have successfully completed numerous dives and classes before they can attempt their first cave dive.
Sorenson has rescued multiple people from underwater caves.
He said they will face a "daunting task" partly because they have water-filled sections and there will be a "long ordeal."
Sorenson is expected to be on-call and contacted if he is needed in the rescue of the team and their coach.
