Scott's proposal for early learning

Jacksonville, Fl (WTXL) - Governor Rick Scott visited an early learning center in Jacksonville today to push his education agenda. Scott's agenda includes adding a $100 per student enrollment fee for voluntary pre-kindergarten.

Scott met with Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and several state lawmakers to discuss his proposals. Governor Scott noted at the meeting, that for the fifth consecutive year Florida students who completed the VPK Education Program were better prepared for Kindergarten than those who didn't.

The House Education Committee held a first reading for the house bill on Early Learning Education on Opening day.
