TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Gov. Rick Scott is asking for federal aid to help those in the fishing industry impacted by Hurricane Michael.
Scott submitted a request to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce on Tuesday asking him to declare a federal fishery resource disaster.
This federal assistance will help communities that rely on commercial and recreational fishing in Florida.
Scott says the force of Hurricane Michael's impact on the industry is expected to be significant.
