TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott says law enforcement needs to first capture two murderers who escaped from a Franklin County prison and then find out what went wrong.
Authorities say Joseph Jenkins and Charles Walker were let out of the prison where they were serving life sentences after prison officials were fooled by forged court documents.
Scott told reporters the first priority is capturing the men, both of whom are 34 years old and were convicted of separate Orlando-area murders more than a decade ago.
The Department of Corrections, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating the escape.
