TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott's rocky relations with the Florida Legislative Black Caucus are continuing over issues of race relations, economic deprivation and health care.

In a meeting Tuesday that occasionally got confrontational, legislators heard what they called non-responses from Scott on those issues. They asked about high unemployment in black communities, expanding the state's Medicaid program and a lack of racial diversity in Scott's administration and appointments.

But Scott said the legislators have failed to bring their concerns to him in person so he could solve them.

He said his administration is taking the right steps to boost jobs and the economy and that he looks for the most qualified people in making appointments.

The meeting was delayed after disagreements over whether the caucus had formally invited Scott.
