TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tuesday, at the "School of Arts and Sciences" off of Thomasville Road, the school is celebrating the opening of its classroom addition.
The celebration included a ribbon cutting ceremony with commissioner Gil Ziffer and tours of the new building.
The new facility is 12,000 square feet and adds a dozen new classrooms for kindergarten through eighth grades, among other improvements.
The School of Arts and Sciences expects to use the new facility to increase its enrollment numbers gradually from 384 students to 450 in time for the 2021-22 school year.
The school says it currently has more than 1,000 names on its waiting list.
