School Bus Crash Leaves Six Minors Injured

GADSDEN COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a school bus crash in Gadsden County that leaves six minors injured.

According to the FHP, the accident happened just after 4:00pm Thursday when a car tried to pass a turning school bus.

According to reports, the Gadsden County School bus driven by 66 year old King Wright, was traveling South bound on Dewey Johnson Way approaching Williams Street. As the bus began to turn left onto Williams Street, a Honda Accord driven by 19 year old Jasmine Highman tried to pass, colliding with the side of the bus. Highman then ran off the road striking a fire hydrant before coming to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.

Six minors were traveling in the bus at time and all suffered minor injuries.

Highman was charged with improper passing, reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
