TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers say a school bus full of elementary students was involved in a crash on Orange Avenue this afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that a school bus, driven by Olympia Battles, 35, and another car, driven by Beverly McCrea, were both traveling westbound on Orange Avenue in the outside lane on Wednesday afternoon.

They said McCrea began to slow to a stop due to traffic from another traffic crash in that same area.

FHP said that Battles failed to slow in time, causing the bus to crash into the back of the car.

There were a total of 46 elementary school students on the school bus at the time of the crash, however, troopers say there were no reported injuries from any of the parties involved in the crash.

The bus driver is being charged with careless driving. Troopers say the crash was not alcohol related.

No word yet on what school the kids were from.

The FHP was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
