GEORGIA (WTXL) - Georgia's secretary of state Brian Kemp is warning the public about a new scam where con artists pose as members of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, scammers posing as government officials, are calling people saying they have won a cash sweepstakes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a national charity for sick children.
To claim the prize, callers tell the 'winners' that they must first hand over thousands of dollars to cover processing fees.
Kemp says you can report these scam calls to his office.
