SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Savannah say they arrested a man accused of vandalizing a church.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker said in a news release that officers and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the church around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. There were no flames, but officers saw evidence that someone was inside.
They entered the church and found significant property damage. They also found a man throwing things and behaving erratically.
Baker said officers used a stun gun on the man when he became violent as they tried to arrest him.
The man, whose identity wasn't immediately known, was taken to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
He faces charges of burglary, vandalism to a place of worship, felony obstruction of an officer and criminal damage to property.
