TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Salvation Army is launching a new program all aimed at helping families right here in our community breaking free from inter-generational poverty.
The new Pathway of Hope Initiative purpose is to help families with children in the community with finances and education all in order to end poverty.
The Salvation Army plans to help transforms the lives of 100,000 families across the United States by 2030 through this innovative initiative.
"A portion of the Salvation Army's mission statement states that we will meet human needs in his name without discrimination. So really this is us taking a look at the greater issues within our society that keep a family within the cycle of poverty and meeting those needs so that we can break the cycle that's within their family," said Director of Salvation Army, Amber Moe.
The Salvation Army is searching for volunteers that work in social services or other avenues that could help the families out. Just visit the administrative office on Allen street to get involved.
