TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For this holiday season the Salvation Army in Tallahassee plans to hire 60 Red Kettle bell ringers beginning Friday.
The bell ringers will have their bright red buckets outside local stores as they conduct their fundraising campaign beginning November 17.
Volunteers are also wanted, but sometimes the Salvation Army cannot fill its posts with volunteers and must hire some people.
Applicants must apply in person Friday, October 13, or Friday, October 27, at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army of Tallahassee, located at 2410 Allen Rd.
Applicants must provide a valid photo ID and social security card for their applications to be accepted.
“Our Red Kettle Campaign is not just our largest fundraising event,” says Lt. Ryan Meo, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Tallahassee. “It is an opportunity to offer employment to those who would otherwise not have jobs this holiday season.”
If hired, applicants will also complete an orientation session the same day. The entire application process, including the orientation session, is estimated to take approximately two hours.
For more information about the Red Kettle Campaign or to volunteer your time to ring the bell, contact The Salvation Army at (850) 222-0304.
