TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With just three days 'til Christmas, local stores are finding last-minute shoppers looking for the perfect present.
Toy Nation says sales were up during the special Shop Local 850 holiday weekend.
The store will be open during part of Christmas Eve.
Over at Mingo Mania, sales have been steady since the start of the week.
"We almost sold out of terrariums, so this morning, we got in a new shipment," said Stacy Wallace, the owner of Mingo Mania. "So, they're ready for today and tomorrow for Christmas."
Deborah Eyler, the owner of Toy Nation, says that local businesses can better assist customers in finding the perfect gift for a loved one.
"Local businesses offer a lot," said Eyler. "There are a lot of demos that you can come and actually play with and put your hands on, and we know all about our toys. So, if you come in, we can recommend something for you."
Both stores say the designated local shopping weekend helped advertise how small businesses are smart choices for shoppers.
