VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Salary raises are in store for all Valdosta City School employees.
School board members passed 4 proposals during their board meeting to increase the pay for paraprofessionals and all employees by 2 percent, to increase the local supplement, which works like a bonus by 10 percent, and to increase post season compensation, which rewards coaches for post-season games and wins.
Administrators say the raise is long overdue.
The pay raises will go into effect in July and September. They are funded partially from both state and local funds.
