TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- It's not too long before Police Unity Tour cyclists begin the three-day ride.
Wednesday morning they start the 250-mile bike ride from Portsmouth, Virginia to Washington D.C.
They have to stay sharp and always pay attention to their surroundings.
Team Tallahassee attended a safety briefing with the rest of the riders and then got to know the other riders they'll share the road with.
Denise Hunter from Texas is riding in her husband's memory. More than 150 riders leave Portsmouth tomorrow morning at 7:45 a.m. sharp. They'll be riding to Tapahannock. It's a 115-mile trek the first day.
We'll check in with TPD Officer Rachelle Denmark Wednesday early for the opening ceremony.
