TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An employee at Sabal Palms Elementary has been arrested for allegedly molesting a child off-campus.

Chancy Jordan, who Leon County Schools confirms was employed at Sabal Palm Elementary as a cafeteria worker, has been arrested and charged with child fondling, lewd and lascivious behavior and lewd or lascivious conduct.

According to a probable cause documents, investigators at the Tallahassee Police Department were contacted about a possible child molestation in early November.

The complainant advised that a 15-year-old child had been receiving rides and money from a "grown man" and was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with 36-year-old Jordan.

Documents say investigators viewed the victim's text messages, which led them to request an interview with the victim.

During the interview, the victim said that she met Jordan a few days before Halloween while the victim was standing alone at the bus stop near Paul Russell Road and Meridian Street. According to the victim, Jordan asked several times to give the victim a ride to school.

The victim kept denying a ride from Jordan, but the victim said he kept circling the area in his car and eventually told the victim that he worked for Leon County Schools so he could take the victim to school quicker.

The victim told investigators that Jordan had a Leon County Schools ID hanging inside his car and noted that the picture looked like Jordan, but the victim couldn't remember what the last name was on the ID.

According to court documents, Jordan then gave the victim his phone number and texted the victim first. The victim said Jordan asked about the victim's clothing size and asked the victim to touch his "private parts" and "other nasty stuff." Jordan also pressured the victim to give him oral sex.

Jordan gave the victim a total of four rides to and from school, according to the victim. Each time, victim always parked away from the victim's school.

During the third ride, the victim said Jordan drove to a gas station near the victim's home and tried to fondle the victim. After telling Jordan no, Jordan drove the victim home.

On the final ride, the victim told investigators that Jordan took them to a baseball field, exposed himself, and laid back in the seat. Again, the victim told Jordan no. This time, the victim said Jordan got upset and drove the victim back to the gas station near the victim's home.

"[Jordan] also told [the victim] she worked at Baja's Club," documents say. The victim told investigators that Jordan also asked the victim to be in a dating relationship with him.

In January, investigators were able to identify Jordan as the suspect in the case and confirmed with Leon County School Safety and Security that Jordan was currently employed at Sabal Palm Elementary in the Nutrition Services department.

After serving a search warrant at Jordan's home on Jan. 15, investigators collected Jordan's cellphone and interviewed him.

During the interview, Jordan said that he first saw the victim at Baja's Club on West Tennessee Street and later saw the victim at the bus stop near Paul Russell Road and Meridian Street. Jordan said that the victim asked him for a ride to school, so he dropped her off.

A few days later, Jordan said he saw the victim again and gave the victim another ride to school. This continued two more times.

Documents say Jordan told investigators that he had been texting the victim about giving him oral sex. Jordan said the victim agreed to the act so, on the final ride, Jordan said the victim performed the sexual act for several minutes while he drove. Eventually, the victim stopped and told him no more, so Jordan drove the victim back and went home.

According to court documents, Jordan admitted to texting the victim and said he didn't know if the victim was under 18. He maintained that he met the victim at Baja's, which requires people to be 18 to enter.

However, investigators say Jordan said he only saw the victim out front and never saw the victim inside the club. He also claimed that he didn't know the victim was in high school, even though he admitted to picking the victim up across the street several times.

Court documents say Jordan told investigators, "I didn't ask any questions, because I wasn't into getting into all that stuff."

Based on the evidence, investigators found probable cause to charge Jordan with lewd and lascivious molestation, lewd and lascivious battery, and lewd and lascivious conduct. He was taken into custody on Sunday.

As of Monday, he remains in jail on a $45,000 bond.

We've reached out to Leon County Schools, who confirmed that Jordan was a cafeteria employee at Sabal Palm. He has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. LCS says the alleged activity did not take place on any Leon County School property.
