THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Most hotels in Thomasville are full and the restaurants and shops are packed with customers visiting for the Rose Show and Festival.
The three day event has an economic impact of $1.4 million
Restaurants say they see a 30 to 40 percent spike in sales.
Folks say they don't mind traveling several hours to Thomasville for the big event.
"It's a novel experience, we really didn't know what to expect," said Jeffrey Bradley, Suwannee County resident. "We really been open for whatever happens. The high school band opened the festivities, the flowers are beautiful, all the hybrids, we are enjoying ourselves."
Friday, Broad Street was filled with colorful floats, marching bands, and stilt walkers for the 70th Annual Rose Parade.
