TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee National Organization for Women held a vigil Tuesday night at the Capitol Building to commemorate the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

That is the Supreme Court decision issued in 1973 that affirmed the constitutional right for women to access safe, legal abortions.

For more than four decades, the National Organization for Women and other activist groups around the country have pushed for the fair treatment of the decision since it passed. This year they want lawmakers to hear their message loud and clear.

Local activists, state legislators and feminist leaders also participated in the vigil.
