TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Roads are getting crowded as Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally one of the busiest weeks all year for travel.

Florida Highway Patrol has extra troopers on the roads that started Tuesday night and will continue through Sunday.

Those troopers want to remind you to buckle up.

During the 2017 Thanksgiving holiday period, law enforcement agencies across Florida handled more than 10,000 crashes.

More than 100 people died and 19 of them were not wearing seatbelts. Drivers need to have safety on their minds.

"Basically, just be considerate of every other person on the road. Don’t do anything crazy, don’t get in a hurry," said traveler Rachel Webber. "You’ll get there to see your loved ones in plenty of time. Just be safe and follow the rules of the road.”
