TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol reports that roads are reopened after a fatal crash in Tallahassee.

According to FHP, the crash happened Thursday morning on Springhill Road

They said that an unidentified woman, driving a 2002 Kia Sportage, was traveling southbound on Springhill Road, when the car entered a left-hand curve.

As the car went around the curve, the right side of the car traveled off of the road and onto the west shoulder.

Troopers say the driver tried to bring the car back on the road by steering to the left, but this caused the car to start spinning as it traveled back onto Springhill Road.

While still rotating counterclockwise, the car traveled across Springhill Road where the front and side of the car hit two trees.

This crash caused the car to spin around the trees while the car began to catch fire.

The car came to final rest on the east shoulder of Springhill Road facing west.

The woman was pronounced deceased on scene.

Springhill Road was closed between New Light Church Road and LL Wallace Road but has since reopened.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
