THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The City of Thomasville will be starting a sanitary sewer service line installation beginning Saturday, July 7 at 7 a.m.
East Monroe Street between N. Crawford and N. Dawson Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic to replace a damaged sanitary sewer service line.
The road is expected to be re-opened to traffic by 3 p.m. Saturday.
During the repair, westbound traffic will be detoured north to E. Clay Street and eastbound traffic will be detoured south to E. Washington Street.
“Our goal is to minimize disruption to local citizens and people that need to travel in the area. When we have a utility line that has failed or is damaged, it has to be repaired or replaced. We try to schedule these repairs so they have the least impact on residents and traffic in the area. We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as these necessary improvements are made,” says Wayne Newsome, P.E., City Engineer.
Local traffic will be accommodated to the maximum extent possible while ensuring the safety of the public and workers in the area.
