TALLAHASSEE, Fla., (WTXL) -- Four young men are pedaling through the sunshine state to raise awareness for a good cause.

It's called Riders With Reason, a non-profit organization founded by a Florida State University student.

These riders are committing time from their summer to make a difference on Florida roadways.

During their trek, they will be reaching out to communities about the dangers of distracted driving by traveling along some of the country's most dangerous roadways and highways through the Florida Keys and South Florida and back to Tallahassee on bicycles.

All four of these men have felt the affects of distracted driving, either by suffering injuries themselves or losing someone close to them at the hands of distracted drivers.

In 2013, 3,154 people were killed and an estimated 424,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
