TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tuesday was a happy homecoming for Claudette Farmer.
The Rickards alum turned Rickards girls basketball coach is now the athletic director at the high school she helped put on the map for high school hoops.
Farmer was introduced as the Raiders new athletic director Tuesday morning. Her first goal? Raising money for the athletic programs.
Farmer, blazing trails too, she's the first African American female athletic director in Leon County School's history and she's honored by the recognition.
"Oh man, it's like the dream come true. I'm hoping it'll inspire some other young women to want to the do same thing," said Farmer. "We often times don't get that opportunity so it means a tremendous amount. To realize that being one of my goals, to reach that goal, it's like dream come true."
