DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - We're in the final hours of voting and if you're voting in District-2 you may still want to cast your ballot before time runs out.

This race is one we're watching closely.

A county commission seat and school board seat are both on the ballot.

District-2 County commissioner John Hayes currently holds the seat. He'll face off against Sherrell Byrd, Joyce Jones Jordan, and Victor T. Edwards.

As for the open school board seat, Milton "June Bug" Griffin is the incumbent. He faces challenges from Kenneth Florence and Debra Trice Wiley.

WTXL spoke with one teacher who wants to see changes made within the school board.

"Well I would like to see better leadership than it is right now," said Melanie Williams.

Williams says, she believes her votes today are important to see who could be elected in November.
