TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Residents in Tallahassee are getting ready for the possible impact of Hurricane Irma.

As supplies continue to dwindle, there are several locations for residents to go to get sandbags.

We caught up with a few residents today who say this is just one of the ways to prepare for bad weather. They say, they're thankful the city provides locations for area residents to stock up on sand bags as needed.

If you still need sandbags for the upcoming hurricane these locations still have bags.

  • Tekesta Park, at Tekesta Drive and Deer Lake Road in Killearn Lakes
  • Apalachee Regional Park at 7550 Apalachee Parkway
  • J. Lee Vause at 60-24 Old Bainbridge Road
  • Jack Mclean Community Center at 700 Paul Russell Road

Other location include are:

  • James Messer Sports Complex at 2830 Jackson Bluff Road
  • Lawrence-Gregory Community Center at 1115 Dade Street
  • Winthrop Park at 1601 Mitchell Avenue
  • Intersection of Oak Ridge at Ranchero Roads

You do need to bring your own shovel.

However, sand bags and ties will be available.

Officials ask that you take no more than 15 bags to allow others to prepare.
