VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department is now offering prescription drug drop boxes inside the station to give community members a safe way to dispose of pills they no longer use.
And it's proven to be beneficial: When officers went to dump the box, it was completely full!
People are encouraged to drop-off all prescription drugs free of questions from police.
With the city recently declaring opioids as a nuisance, this option serves as another way to fight the epidemic.
The dropbox is only for prescription drugs. All other drugs dropped off will be subjected to questioning.
