TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With the government reopening, for those 800,000 federal workers, the relief may only be temporary.

This, as both political parties work to come to an agreement on border security. President Trump is not budging on his initial $5 billion request for a border wall.

The president said he thinks there's less than a 50 percent chance for a deal, but Democrats doubt there will be another shutdown.

WTXL ABC 27 Political Contributor Doctor Richard Murgo said President Trump needs to 'play to his base', and rely on his advocates like Anne Coulter.

Meanwhile, he feels House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needs to hold Democrats together.

"We've got a lot of instability going ahead, as we go through this. Unfortunately, the president is backed into a corner. He has a lot of other issues going on. He has the indictment of Mr. Stone," said Dr. Murgo. "He has a lot of things in the backdrop. When he gets his back up against the wall. He's going to start striking out, and we are going to see him become more aggressive. Mrs. Pelosi seems to be able to be responsive to that and strike back just as hard."

Dr. Murgo said unfortunately citizens and government employees are going to be caught in the middle of the fight.
