(WTXL) - Republican politicians held a rally in Florida on saturday to meet with constituents and talk about issues.
But they weren't just met with GOP voters. They were also met with protesters.
This may be the closest locals get to Republican candidates for national, state and local races.
All the candidates are hoping to make a good impression before the August primaries.
The candidates spoke about the importance of the public school system, cracking down on immigration laws and job growth throughout the state
During the final speaker, governor and U.S. Senate candidate Rick Scott, two more groups came face to face: demonstrators and police officers.
Some republican voters say the interruptions did not negatively impact Saturday's event.
