TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Snakes, alligators, and tarantulas invaded the North Florida Fairgrounds Saturday for a one-of-a-kind reptile show.
Reptiday Tallahassee featured a mix of vendors, breeders, and different types of reptiles. Industry experts were on hand offering advice about reptile feeding, care, and habitats. Some people even had the chance to take one home.
The event coordinator said the event was a way to get people prepared for a pet their unfamiliar with handling.
"A lot of people have fears but mostly it is because they don't know how to handle the animals or what to expect from the animals when they first encounter them. If it's a pet and it's well cared for and it's use to being around people, normally they just wrap themselves around your arm or around your neck and hang out for a bit," said Naydine Espinosa.
