VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - A report released by the Georgia Department of Public Safety shows what caused the crash of two patrol cars in Valdosta.
The crash happened Tuesday, June 9, around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Gordon Street and North Troupe Street.
Two patrol cars driven by Sergeant Jeremyah Jones from the Valdosta Police Department and Sergeant Craig Robey from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office crashed while rushing to help fellow officers who were injured while attempting to arrest a suspect.
According to the traffic crash report, Sergeant Jones failed to, "...use due regard and entered the intersection," causing his vehicle to crash into Sergeant Robey's vehicle.
Sergeant Jones was treated at South Georgia Medical Center with injuries to his arm after the crash.
