Report: Cigarette lighter shuts down airport terminal

MIAMI, Fla -- A Miami-based news outlet is reporting that a terminal at the Miami International Airport is reopening after a bomb scare evacuation.

Fox affiliate WSVN says that the Miami-Dade Police bomb unit is clearing the scene after a man tried to board a plane with a cigarette lighter. The lighter was in the shape of a hand grenade, according to WSVN.

The man was stopped at a security checkpoint.


MIAMI, Fla. -- A Miami-based news outlet is reporting that a suspicious device is under investigation at the Miami International Airport.

Fox affiliate WSVN issued the following tweet Thursday morning: "BREAKING: Suspicious device closes inner loop at Miami International Airport. Bomb squad on its way to the scene."

An updated tweet from the station says police are confirming that an "incendiary device" was discovered in Terminal D. WSVN is also reporting that the terminal has been evacuated.
