BOSTON (AP) — Authorities say the body of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev is being claimed.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Terrel Harris says authorities were informed someone will be claiming the 26-year-old's remains Thursday night. He has no more information.
The medical examiner determined Tsarnaev's cause of death Monday, but officials said it won't become public until his remains are released and a death certificate is filed.
Tsarnaev died after a gunfight with authorities.
Police have said he ran out of ammunition before his brother dragged his body under a vehicle while fleeing the scene.
Brother Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faces a charge of using a weapon of mass destruction to kill.
Their mother says the allegations are lies.
