TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Over 3,000 people are expected to participate in "Relay for Life" event at Florida State University on April 21.

The purpose of "Relay for Life" is to help raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Florida State University's "Relay for Life" event is ranked number two in the state and third among collegiate relay events in the nation.

"Relay for Life" is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path.

Each team is asked to have a member walking at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps.

If you can't make it to the event you can always go to the "Relay for Life" website and make a donation.
