TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Calling area senior citizens, it's time for you to show off your skills.

The 10th annual Capital City Senior Games are just about two weeks away and registration is now open.

This year, more than 500 seniors are expected to compete in the annual Senior Games.

Kristy Carter, with the City of Tallahassee,  stopped by our WTXL studios earlier to explain what it means for the community to have this event every year.

"It just keeps everybody engaged in their community, allows them to be moving and a part of their community from the family coming together to cheer on the athletes," said Carter. "We have mom and dad competing together, we also have children competing with their parents in bowling so it's definitely a community affair."

The games feature friendly competitions designed for all fitness levels.

Registration is now open at talgov.com.
